He’s hot, young, and way off-limits... But he might be just what she needs to get over the past and on with her life.
Lisa Taylor’s life stalled after her divorce three years ago, and she never got it started up again. Now her shit-paying catalogue photography job is boring her to death, she can’t bear to look in the mirror, and she hasn’t had a man since her asshole ex left.
When a gorgeous younger man reappears in her life, he promises to be the solution to all those problems. Tempting as he is -- and god almighty, he is! -- taking what he offers could destroy what little she has left.
Julie Jaret is an American screenwriter with one feature film produced and some others on deck. Her alter-ego needed an outlet, so here we are.
Julie lives in the southeast U.S. with her sexy and supportive husband, two funny and beautiful kids, and one big doofus of a dog. She enjoys living vicariously through her fictional characters, often to the point of distraction... (Luckily, her hubby and kids know not to expect dinner at a certain time. Or at all.)

Extreme Close Up has a few elements that drew me in from the synopsis. An older woman, and forbidden love. Lisa is a woman who already has a teenage son who is off at camp. She is struggling with the boring photography job when a boy reappears in her life, Brady. Actually he is a man now and he goes by Braden. Braden makes it no secret that he finds Lisa attractive but with her messed up past relationships and her insecurities she pushes Braden away. I liked watching their relationship bloom, and I really enjoyed seeing how Braden showed Lisa what a beautiful woman she was. It was a joy to see her become comfortable with her own skin. The story had potential to have quite a lot of drama (son, ex husband, ex husbands wife) but there wasn't really. I Was hoping for a little bit more drama I guess but I still really enjoyed the story front to back. I was thrown off when another man was brought into the picture. Declan is everything Lisa wants, and I'm so torn between the two. I'm anxious to see where Julie takes her readers in the second installment. I want Lisa to find her HEA but I'm not sure who it will be with. And I'm not sure who I WANT it to be with.
I look forward to finding out!
